Routes 16 - 17 |

We move away from Dorchester now to a pair of routes in the east of the county, linking the villages in and around Blackmoor Vale with Blandford and Shaftesbury. The 16 and 17 were substantial postwar enhancements of earlier more limited market day services. The 17 coming down from Woolland connected with the 16 at Okeford Fitzpaine to enable passengers to have the choice of Sturminster, Blandford and Shaftesbury as destinations. These services warranted a seven day a week operation.
