| BERE REGIS TIMETABLE 1949 The timetables for all of the routes - part three |
Routes 4 - 5 |
![]() |
Two of the firm's principal routes which linked the county town of Dorchester northwards to Sherborne and Yeovil, the 4 going via Cerne Abbas with its famous chalk giant cut in the hillside, the 5 by the meandering villages of the quaintly named Piddle valley. Again routes busy enough to warrant double deck operation in post war years. Soon after the publication of this booklet the timetables for the two routes were slightly adjusted to enable connections from the 4 to the 5 at Holnest Park to enable passengers from both routes to travel to and from Yeovil. The amended times are here.
